Carrion Crow
Corvus corone

Size : L 44-51cm, WS 93-104cm
Info : The Carrion Crow is an all black bird, commonly found in open land and in towns and villages. It is an opportunistic feeder taking carrion (hence the name) as well as all sorts of insects and grains on the ground. Not as gregarious as the Rook, the Carrion Crow is usually found alone or in pairs but will form large flocks for breeding and around large food sources such as rubbish tips.
Location: Ubiquitous throughout Europe, although replaced in some areas by the Hooded Crow subspecies.
Sound : Harsh grating 'caw's and 'krra krra krra's.
